As a 6th generation Californian and the grandson of a migrant field worker, Mateo brings a unique perspective to the importance of California agriculture and is committed to maintaining the prosperity of the land and the people who depend on it.
Out of high school Mateo followed his first passion, baseball, as far as it would take him. He played throughout college and into the minor leagues. After years of following his dream of playing professional baseball he returned to his roots and entered the college of agriculture at Chico State. Mateo always knew he wasn’t cut out for a 9-5 desk job and he longed to find something that merged his love for being outdoors, his interest in farming, and his strong scientific and analytical thinking skills.
Agricultural consulting has provided the perfect union of these attributes and combined with his competitive nature has resulted in a new passion to help clients solve the problems that matter to them most and bring their best product to market.
Mateo Works across the north state from Butte to Solano counties consulting on over 10,000 acres of ground including Almonds, Walnuts, Pistachios, Prunes, Peaches, Apricots, Tomatoes, Sunflower, Beans and Alfalfa.
